The young thief was arrested in RICO on gang charges

Atlanta rapper Young Thug was one of 28 people charged in Georgia Monday with violating the state’s RICO Act and being charged with street gang activity, according to prison records.

An Atlanta rapper named Jeffrey Lamar Williams was arrested at his home in Buckhead, Atlanta, just north of downtown. He is being held in the Fulton County Jail.

Prison records establish that the conspiracy charge dates back to 2013 and the gang charge to 2018.

Young Thug is believed to be one of the three founders of Young Slime Life, a “criminal street gang that started in late 2012” in Atlanta, according to the indictment. YSL is linked to the National Bloods Gang, officials said. The charges include “maintaining, protecting and safeguarding the company’s reputation, power and territory through organized crime, including threats of murder, assault and violence.”

Young Tug’s attorney Brian Steele told local media: “Mr. Williams committed no crime” and that he “fought to the last drop to clean it up”.

He will appear in court for the first time on Tuesday at 11:30 pm.

Also on Monday, Atlanta rapper Guna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, and rookie rapper Christian Einger, who was already in prison, were charged with shooting an Atlanta police officer six times in February. It is unknown whether Guna, accused of conspiracy to violate the RICO State Law, has been arrested.

In April 2021, Young Tug and Gunay posted bail for 30 low-level inmates who were unable to pay the costs.

The Young Thug label was called YSL Records or Young Stoner Life Records. The label lists its artists as part of the “Slime Family” and the collection is called fine language 2 In April 2021, it reached number one on the charts.
