Paramount Helps Two Executives Take Control of VidCon Amid Leadership Changes

Paramount Global has promoted two CEOs to senior roles overseeing VidCon, as convention general manager Jim Lauderbeck assumes an advisory role.

Colin Hickey will serve as Senior Vice President of Operations at VidCon after serving as Chief Operating Officer for over eight years. During this time, Hickey helped brokerage VidCon sell 2018 to Paramount Global (then known as Viacom). In his new role, Hickey will report to Pam Kaufmann, President of Experience and Consumer Products at Paramount.

Hickey will join Sarah Tortoret, who has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at VidCon after most recently serving as Vice President of Brand, Global Marketing and Communications. Tortoreti will also report to Kaufmann and help oversee the convention’s global expansion, bringing together top digital talent.

Louderback was first named CEO of VidCon in 2017, leaving VidCon co-founder Hank Green behind. After selling the company to Paramount, Louderback was given the title of General Manager and Senior Vice President of VidCon. With an executive change on Tuesday, Louderback will take the step of becoming a director.

“Sarah and Colin have shown what it means to be leaders as they continue to build, expand and innovate around the VidCon experience over the past few years,” Kaufman said in a statement. “As Paramount looks to the future of our experience offerings across the division, Sarah and Colin will be crucial to VidCon’s unparalleled influence on fans, developers and industry insiders. We look forward to continuing our best practices for participants around the world.”

The US VidCon event will take place in Anaheim June 22-25.
