Creed 3: Michael B. Jordan recasts a former classmate live

I think 3 : Michael B. Jordan takes the lead

After evolving with him to the title of world champion, Adonis Creed separates from Rocky Balboa for the third work of the franchise. In conflict with producer Irwin Winkler and deploring the direction the saga is taking, Sylvester Stallone is for the first time not involved in a feature film about the universe he has developed. For his part, Michael B. Jordan said in an interview for ign want “really building this story and this universe around Adonis to allow him to move forwardto emancipate”, even if “there will always be the spirit and the very essence of Rocky in this saga”.

In Creed III, in which the actor of Adonis makes his debut behind the camera, the protagonist has his past resurfaced when his old friend Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors) reconnects with him after serving an 18-year prison sentence. Two decades later, Damian hasn’t given up on his youthful dreams: to win the title of world champion. Ready to do anything to succeed, “Diamond” does not hesitate to betray the one he considers his brother, which forces the retired athlete to return to the ring.

Rounding out the film’s cast are Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, and Phylicia Rashad, who sadly lack emotion but manage to deliver some galvanizing fight scenes (check out our review here). While he’s currently promoting the feature film, Michael B. Jordan also had his past resurface during a rather tense exchange.

Embarrassing moment on the red carpet

At the premiere of Creed III organized in Los Angeles, the actor and director came face to face with Lore’l, journalist of The morning bustle. In 2021, the host explained that she attended the same high school as Michael B. Jordan during a podcast, and she described the comedian revealed by the series The cable AS “a nice nerdy boy”. An observation that has visibly reached the ears of the star.

During this red carpet reunion, Lore’l didn’t fail to mention that she has known Michael B. Jordan for many years. The interpreter of Adonis Creed then retorted live, somewhat annoyed (via the huffpost):

Oh yes ! I was the nerdy guy, right?

Embarrassed, the journalist immediately tried to justify herself by launching:

I never said that, I said we were making fun of the name.

Which obviously didn’t convince Michael B. Jordanwho nevertheless kept his smile for the occasion out of courtesy.
