Less 35 kg: how I lost weight without doing sports after two pregnancies

The birth of a child is a wonderful event, which is sometimes overshadowed by postpartum depression and extra pounds. Our heroine changed her lifestyle to solve both problems at once.

“Men is 30 years old and works as a real estate agent. After gaining a lot of extra pounds during pregnancy and due to medication, I tried to change my life – and I lost 30 pounds.

My story

During my first pregnancy, I gained almost 25 kilos. Being a mother is an invaluable experience, but very difficult psychologically. I had to go back to work and suffered from postpartum depression. The doctor prescribed me medication that helped me deal with the symptoms of depression, but while taking it, I gained 10 extra pounds.

After the birth of the second child, the situation worsened. I went to the doctor and found out that I had second degree obesity – I weighed more than 110 kilograms. I was prescribed sports, went to the gym and started exercising like hell. The weight stopped and I was very upset.

Two years ago, I attended a big family party, we took pictures together… And I was won over. The next day, I was determined to change the situation because I began to hate my reflection in the mirror.

My mom used to try the keto diet and I decided to follow her lead. Also, I liked the idea of intermittent fasting and decided to combine the two approaches.

Many thought I was crazy because I was going to eat keto and starve at the same time. But for me it was the best option. And it worked !

The hardest thing for me was quitting sugar. I have always loved cookies, cakes and desserts. But it turns out that you can make sweets on the keto diet. True, with changes in the composition. The transition period was therefore not so difficult.

During the keto diet, I felt that I was not hungry for a long time. In the first month I lost almost 10 kilograms, and in six months – 25.

After that, I switched to the OMAD diet (one meal a day – one meal a day), and that worked for me as well. But it must be understood that this is a very strict diet, which is not suitable for everyone and must be checked by a specialist!

What am I eating now

Breakfast: Butter coffee is one of the standard drinks on a keto diet. Sometimes I add sugar-free syrup to it.

Lunch: My biggest meal of the day, so I eat a lot of meat (chicken, beef, pork) and vegetables.

Snacks: nuts, eggs, ham.

I usually skip dinner, I can eat a vegetable salad or a fruit.

What helped me

During weight loss, I almost did not play sports, all the kilograms disappeared thanks to the new diet.

The main thing for me was to find a reason to lose weight and constantly keep it in my head. Sure, sometimes you just really want to quit everything and go back to the old, uncontrolled diet, but those thoughts shouldn’t hold you back for long.

The support of my loved ones helped me a lot, especially my husband. He didn’t let me wander off and never scolded me.

I learned to celebrate small victories. Clothes one size smaller, a happier reflection in the mirror, all these little things gave me courage and rekindled the desire to continue.

I realized I was falling in love with myself again when I started smiling again in the morning. This is perhaps the most important thing in life!
