The Landmark Theaters on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles are closed for good.

“We’ve been working for months to extend the lease on Landmark Pico, but we haven’t been able to reach an agreement,” Holloway said in a statement. “We are exploring opportunities to expand our presence in Los Angeles, which we hope to share more with soon.”

The shutdown is the latest failure to go to the movies in the Los Angeles area, with the cult Cinerama Dome remaining closed after dark shortly after the pandemic began.

As Laemmle Theaters President Greg Laemle has said, more theaters in this area are likely to close soon.
