Last season, Jon Snow kill the new queen of westeros, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), after she had an outbreak and killed several innocents. Because of this, the character ends up being punished and is once again isolated in the Wall with the Night Patrol. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Harington spoke about his fate in the series based on the books of George RR Martin.
“I think if you asked him, he would feel like he got off easy. At the end of the show, when we find him in that cell, he’s getting ready to be beheaded and he wants to be,” said the actor in the conversation. “It’s over. Going to the Wall is the greatest gift and also the greatest curse.”
He needs to go back to the place with all this history and live his life thinking about how he killed Dannyin ygritte dying in his arms, and living thinking about how he hanged Olly. Thinking about all this trauma.
“That’s interesting. So I think where we left off at the end of the show, there’s always this feeling of… I think we wanted some kind of smile that things are okay,” he continued. Kit Harington. “He is not well.”
