John Wick film crew mourn Lance Reddick

While the fourth installment of the John Wick saga arrives in French cinemas on March 22, 2023 (our review here), its American premiere was marked by the emotion linked to the death of Lance Reddick. Indeed, while the team of John Wick: Chapter 4 was at the TCL Chinese Theater for the screening of the film, several of its members including actor Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski took the time to pay their respects to their deceased colleague on March 17, 2023. He starred in the four John Wick Charon movie, concierge at the Continental Hotel in New York and one of John Wick’s closest allies. His passing at the age of 60, of natural causes, rocked Hollywood widely.

“It Sucks That He’s Not Here”

Of his colleagues and friends in attendance, star Keanu Reeves was among the most moved. So he stopped at the microphones of various media, looking for his words and not hiding his sadness.

Lance was a wonderful person, a special artist, a kind and dignified man, with such a passion for his craft. And having the chance to work with him for 10 years and on 4 movies is something special to me, it sucks that he’s not here.

A sincere emotion doubled by the words of director Chad Stahelskibut also by those of Laurence Fishburne, interpreter of the Bowery King in the John Wick films and another precious ally of the hero of the saga.

We love Lance, we miss Lance. I think, in many ways, that’s the heart of these films. We lost our brother, you see… But we made a very good film, it’s the best of the whole saga, I think audiences will like it and, in the end, that’s what they wanted.
