Why you can’t go on a Maya Plisetskaya diet: the Bolshoi Theater ballerina criticized the legendary nutrition system

Many people know Maya Plisetskaya’s strict nutritional standards better than her work in ballet. However, modern ballerinas prefer to avoid the terrible regimes of the Soviet era – and no one is advised to sit on them.

“How to lose weight? Don’t eat!” Perhaps each of us has heard this golden quote from Maya Plisetskaya. Some, in addition to this, have also tried to sit on the popular ballerina paternity diet.

It is believed that in 2 weeks after following the Maya Plisetskaya diet, you can lose up to 10 kilograms. True, for this almost everything will have to be excluded from the diet.

  • For breakfast it is allowed to eat porridge on the water
  • Lunch according to the Maya Plisetskaya system consists of a small amount of salad and soup – which should not contain meat in the composition
  • For dinner, you are supposed to eat 30 grams of fish, 60 grams of rice, and a small portion of salad. Snacks are out of the question – during the day you can only drink clean water or green tea

Moreover, the Soviet ballerina avoided coffee, sugar and bananas – even during the rare holiday periods when she did not follow her diet. Such severe restrictions can only frighten.

Modern ballerinas are not satisfied either. For example, the main soloist of the Bolshoi Theater Kristina Kretova believes that with such a minimum amount of animal protein in the diet, it is simply impossible to resist constant rehearsals and stage appearances.

“These famous diets that existed in Soviet times are now forgotten by everyone. And wonderful! Strict dietary restrictions only give a short result, followed by relapses and even more weight gain. In fact, ballerinas eat a lot. We spend more than 2500 kcal per performance alone, plus rehearsals and the excitement of the day. Sometimes there is really no time to eat. And they lose weight – with the help of work and good nutrition,” says Christina.

According to the ballerina, her diet contains a lot of meat, fish and vegetables. The girl cooks for herself – because it allows you to constantly experiment, while being sure of the purity of the composition of the dishes. At the same time, Christina tries not to eat fruits – because they make her bloat, which is uncomfortable during rehearsals.

“But I rarely allow myself flour products, and if somewhere at an event at 11:00 p.m. they offer me a cake, I ask you to wrap it with you and eat it strictly until 2:00 p.m. “, adds the ballerina.
