Minus 55 kilos per year: how I lost weight by exercising at home and reducing food portions

One of the common mistakes of those who want to get rid of excess weight is the desire to get the most out of it and quickly! But in most cases, a completely different tactic works: little by little, but every day.

“Hi, my name is Hannah, I am 32 years old and live in a small town in Illinois, USA. After years of battling illness, I have changed my lifestyle and I ‘ve lost 55 pounds in less than a year.

My story

I remember when I used to go with the kids to an amusement park and I couldn’t sit on the ride seat because I was overweight. Another time I asked them to wait for me, as we were walking through the forest, and I couldn’t climb the mound without stopping. Also, I missed a lot of interesting stuff just because my health didn’t allow it.

Over the years, I began to suffer from constant fatigue, fog in the head, pain in the knees, depression. Doctors could not make a formal diagnosis.

One day I learned that some symptoms could be related to breast implants. I took them off and felt better for a while. But then everything came back.

When I decided to lose weight, I weighed around 110 kg. I was completely confused and didn’t know how to go about it. I didn’t want to enter the room, so as not to become an object of ridicule. I tried to stay away from people.

The eating habits were terrifying, I was depressed for years.

And then I found sports activities for the home on the Internet, which could be done at a comfortable pace. The food program was a bonus. And I made my decision.

Path to success

I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I started by telling my loved ones about it. They supported me, and that is very important.

I changed my eating habits and started watching portion sizes. It turned out that you could hardly get anything out of the diet while losing weight!

I was very afraid of being hungry and going wild, but nothing like that happened. I ate healthy foods and felt better. I realized that food should feed the body, not the emotions.

What am I eating now

Breakfast: protein shake, eggs, avocado.

Snacks: almonds and vegetables.

Lunch: identical to dinner the day before. For example, chicken with brown rice, vegetable soup, beef with vegetables.

My Sports

Since I didn’t want to go to the gym, I trained at home for half an hour a day – cardio and strength training. At first it was difficult, but over time I became stronger and more resilient.

Besides losing weight, I wanted to build muscle and get the body back to normal.

Of course, I am satisfied with my result and I can easily keep it. The main thing is not to panic and hope that everything will happen instantly. One small step – but every day!
