The Mandalorian : the new trilogy Star Wars in the middle of episode 7
In its three seasons, The Mandalorian sometimes it tended to drag a bit. With episodes that do not advance the plot but rather serve to tickle the fans with cameos. Which causes some frustration from time to time. However, there is always good in this series Star Wars. And episode 7 of the third season is the proof.
In the previous episode, Bo-Katan managed to rally all the Mandalorians. So he doesn’t take long Moff Gideon to be informed. And it is with him that this new episode opens. From the first minutes, the antagonist is shown alongside other sympathizers of the Empire, eager to soon create the First Order (The force awakens takes place 20 years after the series).

The opportunity for the public to see Commander Hux among the generals, played here by Brian Gleeson. The latter would logically be General Armitage Hux’s fatherseen in the latest Star Wars trilogy and played by Domnhall Gleeson (Brian’s brother).
Hux would therefore be at the origin of the Necromancy Projectwhich we imagine to be directly related to the future return of Palpatine. We had already suspected it in previous episodes with Dr. Pershing’s research on cloning. Therefore, this sequence makes it possible a direct and important link to the latest Star Wars films. Just like the summoning of Grand Admiral Thrawn makes the connection to the animated series Rebels. The latter will also return Ashoka.
The First Order is closing in
But before we get to the events of The force awakens, so Gideon will focus on the Mandalorians. The latter gather on the Nevarro with a particularly impressive fleet. A simple stop first return to Mandalore to take back their planet. Meanwhile, Grogu again gives us some funny moments as we settle into the IG-12 droid and communicate “yes” and “no”. This is clearly not the most important of this episode but the fun what this little character carries is always good to take.

Once there, and after a long journey, all Mandalorians and Grogu are, as expected, attacked by the Imperials. An ambush orchestrated by Moff Gideon, which allows him to take Din Djarin prisoner. We then learn that the antagonist has settled on the planet Mandalore to exploit his resources and make much more powerful armor. made by beskar.

Thanks to the Darksaber, Bo-Katan still manages to escape with the last of the Mandalorians. Except for Paz Vizsla, who stayed behind to help them escape. The latter then finds death in an unequal fight against three Praetorian Guards (in red armour)which had also marked the spirits in the film The Last Jedi. A final fight that brings us closer and closer to the trilogy.
The Mandalorian season 3 will follow Disney+.
