Gaming and lifestyle organization FaZe Clan has named Zack Man as President and COO.

Katz will report to CEO Lee Trink and oversee content, talent, merchandise, consumer goods, sponsorship and the sports business. Katz will also work with a senior management team to prioritize global expansion and brand growth.

“Building on FaZe Clan’s leadership in youth culture, we aim to further push the boundaries of gaming to enhance innovation in entertainment,” the man said in a statement. “I can’t imagine a more exciting time to join FaZe Clan’s passionate team and community.”

Katz’s career has included managing prominent artists, producers and songwriters in the music business, as well as co-founding the record label and music publisher Beluga Heights in association with Sony Music and later Warner Brothers Records. He has also served as Executive VIP, COO and President of Records, Publishing and Operations for BMG.

“The FaZe clan sits at the crossroads of gaming, creative economy and culture, which we believe is driving the growth of Web3,” said Trink. “We are focused on building the future and with the addition of Zack to our team, we are gaining a proven leader who has extensive experience working with cultural and innovative brands. Thanks to my long relationship with Zack, I believe he will help our company move into the next phase of growth and bring FaZe operational excellence when we go public.

The company was founded in 2010 and includes an esports division with many competing teams, a talented roster of gaming personalities including newly hired college football content creator Donald de la Haye.

In October of last year, FaZe Clan revealed its plan to go public with Special Purchasing Company (SPAC) B. Riley Principal 150 Merger Corp. The transaction is expected to close in July.
