Be A Ghost: 3 Situations When It’s Better To Leave Without An Explanation

The unexpected disappearance of a relationship (ghosting, from the English phantom – “ghost”) remains a fairly popular trend, especially among men. Are there times when it’s good?

The abyss without explanation is, of course, bad. The other side feels cheated, tries to figure something out, assumes something terrible… And the “ghost” doesn’t even remember it.

The proper end of a relationship is a conversation. In the early stages of romance, you can get by with a message in the messenger or a phone call, but if you’ve already reached bed, leaving the person in the dark is very ugly!

However, there are situations when it is even better not to say anything.

1. Violence

Silent disappearance is good for both parties. If he humiliated you and beat you even more, the sudden disappearance from the radar will do you good (even if at first it’s a shame that you don’t have anyone now, understand that it’s for the best). If you managed to get away from the abuser yourself, make sure he can’t find you and send you away.

2. Trespass

He allows himself a lot: communicates with your ex, suddenly appears at your work, accuses you of betrayal from scratch … This is a violation of personal boundaries, because of which you feel insecure. If you want to leave, he won’t let you. In this case, vanishing should work. In Russia there is no law prohibiting approaching another person, but try to protect yourself from manifestations of his anger.

3. Lies and manipulation

If you caught him doing this (eg he’s married or declaring his love so he has a place to live) you can’t explain anything, just change the locks and phone number. It will be better – for you, that’s for sure!
