Scientists told which drinks you need to be most afraid of if you dream of a snow-white smile in the style of Hollywood.
We already knew that the main enemies of white teeth are our favorite morning drinks – coffee and tea. Recently, scientists from Vladikavkaz and Moscow shared new observations about this.
In a large-scale study, great importance was given specifically to the method of preparation of tea and coffee. For the experiment, 262 extracted teeth were taken, which were divided into 9 groups. The first group was placed in a saline solution and the others were placed in freshly infused food drinks.
Enamel color changes have been observed under the influence of bagged and loose leaf tea (black and green), brewed coffee with and without milk, and instant coffee with milk and without additives. Studies have shown that brewed coffee without milk worsens the appearance of teeth the most. Close behind, with a 20% margin, is instant coffee without additives.

It also turned out that green tea stains the teeth much less than black tea bags: 26.7% against 7.3%. At the same time, coffee brewed with milk stains teeth by 25.2%, and instant coffee with the same additive slightly less – by 16.3%.
