Supernatural: Jensen Ackles has idea for series revival

Jensen Ackles, Dean’s interpreter in Supernatural, wants to revive the series after spin-off

Jensen Acklesinterpreter of Dean Winchesterrevealed ideas for a possible revival of Supernatural (2005) in an interview with TV Guide. Despite the actor’s desire to revive the character, the franchise’s next step is the spin-off about the protagonists’ parents, The Winchesters.

ackles was asked about the possibility of a comedy for the theaters with Dean and Sam (Jared Padalecki). The actor joked and said that the Warner viewed the 15 seasons as a comedy series and explained how he would like to see characters return.

“I have this high point that, after everything is organized, we will have another case like Sam and Dean. I have some ideas. Maybe a short, 10-episode order for HBO Max,” she argued.

ackles even suggested a bold choice, a crossover with another series aired by HBO Max: “I’m just saying. True Detective finds Supernatural. It’s right there.”

What is the favorite Supernatural moment for Jensen Ackles?

The actor chose the most striking arc, which does not involve the main supernatural creatures, but a “peripheral plot,” as he explained to Inside of You (via Screen Rant). “Well, obviously the arc of the two brothers and everything they face is certainly the foundation of the whole series,” ackles explained, highlighting the importance of the main plot. “Clearly, this is the most important and favorite arc.”

However, the actor felt attached to some tension-laden side stories. “Among the ‘peripheral stories,’ I truly love and wanted more time in the scenes of Dean with benny and Cass in purgatory. That was filmed differently, it was another kind of world, where we fought for survival.”
