The flower moon killers : a fresco that promises to be grandiose

Martin Scorsese’s new film scores the reunion between the director and his two favorite actors : Robert DeNiro and Leonardo DiCaprio. If the two actors have already given the answer in Secret wounds AND simple secretsthis is their first collaboration together under the direction of the director, if we put aside the short film The hearing. And this reunion promises to be sublime.

Based on the book of the same name by journalist David Grann, The flower moon killers tell the massacre of Osage tribesmen in Oklahoma, in 1920. These crimes were perpetrated by rancher William Hale (Robert De Niro), with the complicity of his nephew Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio). The trailer for the film suggests that the latter is deeply torn as he reveals elements of his romance with Mollie (Lily Gladstone), a member of the tribe who discovers to his horror one of the murders, busy recovering the oil discovered on their land.

Concatenating magnificent shots that promise a grandiose reconstruction and a disenchanted atmospherethe trailer also introduces other cast members, starting with Brendan Fraser and Jesse Plemons. These images have just been revealed as the feature film will be presented out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival this Saturday, May 20, 2023.

The flower moon killers it is to be discovered in French cinemas from October 18, 2023before being released on the Apple TV+ platform.
