Entitled Mortal Kombat 1, game is scheduled for release in September 2023; watch the cinematic trailer
In the 12th game of the franchise’s main narrative, Mortal Kombat will have a reboot in a new game, which is scheduled for release in 2023. Developer responsible for the game, NetherRealm Studios also released a cinematic trailer.
In the game preview titled Mortal Kombat 1, the public and fans can get their first glimpses of the characters that will be made available to play. They are Liu Kang, Raiden, Kung Lao, scorpion, Sub Zero, Kitana, mileena and the villain Shang Tsung.
As well as revealing a September 19, 2023 release date for PlayStation 5, xbox series, nintendo switch and PC, the trailer also showcases some of the bloody and brutal fatalitiesone of the most iconic gameplay attractions of Mortal Kombat. Watch below:

Mortal Kombat: Dwayne Johnson ‘would make a great Shao Kahn,’ says creator Ed Boon
franchise creator Mortal Kombat, Ed Boon stated that Dwayne Johnsonalso known as The Rockwould be perfect to interpret shao kahn. The joke happened after the actor announced that he is working on another game adaptation for the cinema, in addition to Doom and Rampage.
On the official Twitter account, boon shared the news about Johnson and wrote: “He would be a great shao kahn.” In Mortal Kombat, shao kahn is one of the feared villains of the realm and supreme emperor of Outworld. (via Omelet)

With production of James Wan and direction of Simon McQuoid, Mortal Kombat premiered in 2021. According to deadlinethe sequel is in production and will feature a script by Jeremy Slaterin moon knight It is The Exorcist. There is currently no release date for the second film.
