Scientists have calculated how many years excess weight shortens life – and how many kg you need to lose to become a long-liver

Experts believe that the presence of extra pounds affects life expectancy, even if a person feels well – after all, serious illnesses cannot be avoided with excess weight. People whose weight exceeds the norm for this kilogram and more are particularly at risk.

Excess weight is considered a concomitant factor in the development of many diseases – especially in adulthood. Due to this, metabolic processes slow down and sometimes they do not work fully, without providing full support for the work of various systems and organs. That is why doctors advise to carefully monitor their parameters in adulthood. Although, as you know, losing weight after 40-45 becomes much more difficult than before.

Experts recommend not only to lose weight, but also to monitor body fat levels. It is the excess of this parameter that leads to a reduction in lifespan: on average 4-5 years.

People whose weight exceeds the norm by 10 kilograms or more are particularly at risk, according to scientists. It is in this case that one can definitely speak of the presence of an increased level of visceral fat in the body. And that means a high risk of developing cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other life-threatening conditions.
