“Sleeping Beauty Cocktail”: how to prepare the most useful drink for insomnia

Each of us has trouble sleeping from time to time. However, according to social networks, this particular evening drink offers the fastest falling asleep – and a bunch of other useful properties.

Do not take care! In our articles, we collect the latest scientific data and the opinions of authoritative health experts. But remember: only a doctor can diagnose and prescribe treatment.

What will help you fall asleep quickly if meditation and relaxing music don’t help? A few years ago it was fashionable to drink melatonin before going to bed – although over time experts have found that this supplement is not suitable for many categories of people and is even harmful for health. A cup of hot milk is also not good for everyone. As well as a cup of herbal tea, relaxation that only a few feel.

Nevertheless, followers of a healthy lifestyle do not lose hope of finding the perfect drink to fall asleep. More recently, TikTok claimed the title for the Sleeping Beauty Cocktail, cherry juice mixed with magnesium supplements.

Along with iron, calcium, iodine and other trace elements, magnesium is an essential component for the normal functioning of the body. According to statistics, many lack magnesium, which leads to stress, loss of strength and, in general, affects the psycho-emotional state.

Cherry juice is a natural and safe source of melatonin, the sleep hormone. A few years ago, scientists conducted a study in which they proved that after taking natural cherry juice, people fall asleep easier and sleep better.

Since magnesium has a calming effect and it is recommended to drink it in the evening, and cherry juice is also advisable before bedtime, enterprising Internet users decided to combine business with pleasure – and they are not satisfied with the effect.

Experts do not deny the potential benefits of the “Sleeping Beauty cocktail” and do not believe that it can have any harmful effect on the body.

“When comparing magnesium and cherry juice with melatonin supplements, the former is best preferred. Melatonin supplements can be addictive and reduce the body’s ability to produce the sleep hormone on its own. Meanwhile, cherries and magnesium, on the contrary, contribute to the natural replenishment of the balance of micronutrients associated with sleep,” says nutritionist Susan Schacter.
