Untitled work revealed, with only information that it would be about a great celebrity, it was sold out in pre-sale by excited Swifties
One of today’s most popular artists, Taylor Swift has such a devoted following that even other people benefit from it. Including those that have nothing to do with the singer.
As pointed out by Varietyadmirers of taylor (commonly identified as Swifties) turned a hitherto untitled book into a bestseller. The singer’s public sold out the copies available for pre-sale, even before they knew what the work was about.
It all started when the publisher Flat iron announced that a celebrity, name not yet revealed, would release a book in July. The promise was that it would be a bestseller. Somehow the Swifties got wind of the post (until then titled just 4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023,something like “Untitled Nonfiction Book for Summer 2023”) and bought the work during its pre-sale, with each copy being sold at US$ 45 (about R$ 222 at the current exchange rate).
The success was such that the work reached the top of the Amazon bestseller list and the pre-sale section of Barnes & Noble. And as pointed out by Consequencepretty random details made fans of Taylor Swift believe that the book was about her:
– the number of pages, 544, whose digits add up to 13, cited as the artist’s lucky number;
– the release date, July 9th, mentioned in the lyrics of the song “Last Kiss” (“That July 9th, the beat of your heart”, or “That July 9th, the beat of your heart”).
The book wasn’t about Taylor Swift
After all, the book wasn’t even about Taylor Swift. After the copies were sold out in the pre-sale, the publisher Flat iron — who, it is worth mentioning, did not deceive anyone during this process — confirmed that it was a work about the BTS. Another giant name in current pop, of course, but one can imagine not all Swifties will be happy to receive a copy of the now named Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTSwritten by journalist Myeongseok Kang.
The singer’s fans still haven’t paid attention to the fact that July 9 is also an important date for ARMYs, admirers of the k-pop group. The eponymous fan club, considered the largest dedicated to artists, was founded on this day in 2013 — that is, the book will be made public on the 10th anniversary of its fanbase.
