Superman Legacy: James Gunn expected to turn
After returning briefly to Marvel to wrap up the Guardians of the Galaxy saga, James Gunn will continue his partnership with DC by directing the new Superman film. As you probably know, Henry Cavill will not be reprising the role for the new phase of the DCU (DC Universe). Expected in July 2025 at the cinemathe film baptized Superman: Legacy still does not have a regular actor. But things are moving very fast. Thus, we learn that three actors are currently in the running for the role.
The three actors in the running are…
Second Expiration, the role of Clark Kent will go to Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet or Tom Brittney, the three comedians who have attracted the attention of James Gunn and the producers. Other names such as Jacob Elordi, Andrew Richardson or Pierson Fodé had been mentioned but therefore seem to have been discarded.
The three actors mentioned above will then pass auditions with James Gunn in attendance later this week. For the little anecdote, Nicholas Hoult was the second choice after Robert Pattinson to play Batman The Batman. So it would be funny if he finally gets the role of Superman.
And Lois Lane?
Alongside Lois Lane, are Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan and Phoebe Dynevor who will pass the auditions in the presence of James Gunn. Samara Weaving was also previously announced, but this is no longer relevant.
As for other roles, like Lex Luthor and Jimmy Olsen, decisions will likely come after Superman and Lois. The production team is dedicated to research the perfect actors embody these iconic characters from the Superman universe, in hopes of creating a memorable film true to the superhero legend.
