Oppenheimer vs. Barbie : a fight announced
Summer promises to be hot and colorful in cinemas. More precisely on the date of July 19th From Oppenheimer AND Barbie will exit at the same time. On the one hand there is the new Christopher Nolan about the “father of the atomic bomb”, and for which the director would reproduce a nuclear explosion without CGI. The feature film promises to be impressive, especially as all IMAX theaters will be showing it – to the chagrin of Tom Cruise who recently got angry with the film.
On the other hand, the new feature film by Greta Gervig (Dr. March’s daughters) that will stage Margot Robbie in the famous doll, and Ryan Gosling to Ken. Two rooms, two atmospheres, plus a shortage of pink paint caused by Barbie.

Given the anticipation for these two films and their similar release date, the public has started to build a little rivalry on social media Barbie AND Oppenheimer. Both films have serious arguments to attract the audience. But according to forecasts disk (through Real world), it is surprisingly Barbie who could better start at the US box office when released (July 21 in the US).
A better start for Greta Gerwig?
Greta Gerwig’s comedy could catch on between 45 and 55 million dollars in sales during its first weekend of operation, cons between 30 and 35 million dollars For Oppenheimer. All for similar budgets of around $100 million.

Several factors may justify these figures. Yeah, it should be noted that Christopher Nolan’s film will be classify (the first for more than 20 years). This reduces the potential audience, children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult. On his side, Barbie it is PG-13therefore simply not recommended for children under 13.
Also, although we still don’t know its exact duration Barbie, it should last less than two hours (we’re talking about 1h40). With a duration of three hours, Oppenheimer therefore cannot have that many sessions in one day per screen.
However, these are just predictions and only for the US market. And above all we will have to see what the figures give at the end of the release in theaters. Barbie AND Oppenheimer. In any case, we hope above all that the quality is there for the two feature films. And that then everyone will have the expected success.
