Wednesday season 2: Jenna Ortega takes the reins
In November 2022, Netflix releases the first season of Wednesday, the series adapted from The Addams Family, imagined by Tim Burton. As the name suggests, the show follows Morticia and Gomez’s eldest daughter as she enters Nevermore Academy, a specialized high school for “special” teenagers. In this unique school, the young Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, explores her supernatural powers and her eccentric personality, while navigating the turmoil of adolescence. Between dark plots, disturbing mysteries and strange encounters, the series immerses viewers in the macabre universe imagined by Charles Addams, while marrying the codes of the teen series to the Riverdale.
Soon after going online, the Netflix series for a true phenomenon. Wednesday it then becomes one of the most watched programs of the red logo brand, and projects Jenna Ortega to the rank of star.
Unsurprisingly, Netflix was quick to announce that a season 2 would see the light of day. In addition to playing the lead role, Jenna Ortega will also serve as a producer. A position of high responsibility for the twenty-year-old actress who wants to fully invest in the program, even completely changing some aspects of the series.
A surprise coming in the second season!
This Sunday, June 18, Netflix announced its highly anticipated upcoming content at a global event. And of course there was a panel dedicated to Wednesday. While no season 2 footage has been released (filming has yet to begin), Jenna Ortega and the rest of the cast responded to fan theories about the series. And one of them will come true in the new episodes.
Indeed, a new Addams Family member will appear in the show’s second season. If the actors still don’t know her identity, each one goes to his party: will she be Cousin Machin as Jenna Ortega hopes, or Grand-Mère as the other young actors hope?
