Secret Invasion: Fans react to shock from episode 1’s last scene

Secret invasion debuts on Disney+

Secret invasionthe new Marvel series of Disney+ just started. We find there Nick Fury (Samuel L.Jackson)came back from space to try and stop me a Skrull invasion. In the first episode, which takes place in Moscow, we learn that Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) is the leader of the Skrull Council and that he is recruiting angry young Skrulls to prepare for his revolution. The purpose of him would be to attack humanity directly. For this, he replaces humans with Skrulls (who can take human form), including important personalities.

Therefore, the episode begins with Agent Ross (Martin Freeman) finding out more about what is happening. But after a chase, we realize that he was actually a Skrull. Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) then appear in front of Maria HillCobie Smulders, who understands that she has been manipulated. The latter thus appeals to Fury and together they will first have to prevent a bomb attack.

Obviously there are a lot of things to take away from this episode. Especially with the introduction of Talos’ daughter, G’ia (Emilia Clakre), who serves Gravik in The New Skrullos. A place for Skrull refugees, and where Gravik prepares to attack him. But when Talos meets her daughter and tells her of the death of her mother, killed by Gravik, we tell ourselves that she will join her father’s camp. It’s really like this? We can afford to doubt it upfront the end of episode 1 of Secret invasion…WARNING, SPOILERS!!!

An unexpected tragedy from episode 1

Indeed, after providing the father with the site of the attack, we understand that the bags that Talos, Maria and Nick were following were just decoys. A way for Gravik to locate the three agents. And as the bombs go off, the villain surprises everyone eliminating Mary after impersonating Nick Fury. utragic sequence and very surprising coming from Marvel. Logically, viewers reacted strongly. Some have refused to believe in his death and hope for a turnaround in the aftermath of Secret invasion which will allow the return of Mary.

The studio rarely kills off its characters, and Maria Hill can be considered a veteran of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Even though he is a secondary character, his death has the same effect as From Agent Coulsonkilled by Loki in avengers (2012). It was only much later (in Marvel: Agents of SHIELD) that we will learn his resurrection by alien blood. From there, we can tell ourselves that anything is possible and keep a slim hope. Episode 2 From Secret invasionavailable from Wednesday June 28, it could already give a clue on this topic.
