Popular game released in 2018, Among Us will have series produced by CBS
Among Us will win an animated series. As reported by Variety, production will be handled by CBS Studios. The company would have signed an exclusive partnership with innersloththe independent developer behind the game.
Despite its launch in 2018, Among Us reached high levels of popularity in 2020, during the first months of social isolation caused by the covid-19 pandemic. Owen Dennis (creator of Infinity Train) will executive produce the new project.
The plot of the series should follow the same premise as the game. One of the crew members of a spaceship is replaced by an alien capable of altering its own appearance. The Imposter aims to confuse the other players by sabotaging the ship and then killing them. The only way to avoid defeat is to unmask the Imposter through polls among the remaining crew.
Producer Titmouse (big mouth) will be responsible for animating the series. No streaming service or television channel owns the rights to air, but negotiations are ongoing.
