TF1 counters Cat eyes
Among the outstanding anime of the 80s, we can name Signed Cat’s Eye (VF title), from the manga by Tsukasa Hōjō. We follow the Chamade sisters who run a simple café called Cat’s Eyes during the day. But at night they become prodigious thieves. Their goal is to recover works that belonged to their father, who died during the Second World War. They hope they can find the trace of him by bringing together all of his collection. And because they love a challenge, they always announce when their next flight is.
Last March, we learned that TF1 would be adapting this anime in the live-action series. A risky bet when you see what the latest manga adaptations have been able to give. We can however mention the success of Nicky Larson and the scent of Cupidthe adaptation of City hunter by Philippe Lacheau. Since then production has advanced and TF1 has just announced, in collaboration with Prime Video, the evolution of the project, starting from the casting!

The cast and a synopsis for the series
Find the three actresses who will play the Chamade sisters. And for that, TF1 went looking faces familiar to its viewers. We will have like this Constance Labbe (Belshazzar) as Sylia, Camillo Lou (I promise you, The fighters) to Tamara e Clare Romain (Here it all begins) to embody Alexia.
In its press releaseTF1 specifies that the series will tell 8 episodes of 52 minutes. The production was entrusted to Alexandre Laurent (The fighters, Charity bazaar) with Michel Catz at the creation. After airing on the first French channel, Cat eyes will be available on Prime Video. Shooting is scheduled for this fall. but the transmission date was not specified.
A synopsis, however, announces that the series will return to the origin of the Cat’s Eyes that they will go to rob”the most beautiful and safest monuments in Paris“. The exhibition will take place in 2023 and will see the three sisters reunite after years of separation. It was then that a work by their father, which had been missing for years, resurfaced during an exhibition at the Eiffel Tower. Sylia, Tamara and Alexia will then try to steal this work by escaping Quentin Chapuis, the captain of the BRB, who is also in love with Tamara.
Finally, the table of contents makes it clear that Cat’s Eyes will be “deeply rooted in our time“. But the series will also offer”many nods to the 80s and will be an explosive mix of action, romance and comedy“.
