The spirits of the Afar return to Insidious: The Red Door
If the Lamberts weren’t the focus of the franchise’s third and fourth installments, they’re back Insidious: The Red Door. A fifth work directed by Patrick Wilson, starring Josh Lambert, and produced by James Wan, Jason Blum and Leigh Whannell, the creator of the saga.
Josh Lambert and his eldest son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) have lost some of their memories and can’t remember the Faraway and the terrifying entities they faced Insidious: The Red Door. But once he gets to college, Dalton experiences increasingly frightening visions. As for his father, he’s trying to figure out why he’s had the feeling that his mind has been in a fog for several years. Gradually, the past resurfaces and the risks that both find themselves locked up in limbo continue to grow.
Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Andrew Astor and Hiam Abbass round out the cast ofInsidious: The Red Door, to be discovered from July 5, 2023 in French cinemas. In full promotion of the feature film, Jason Blum spoke about the possibility of a crossover between the universes ofInsidious and of Left.
Where is the crossover with Left ?
In 2018, the horror specialist, who especially produced Paranormal activity, Visit, go out OR Halloweentold to CinemaPop :
We almost did a crossover between Insidious AND Left, and I feel we should still do it. Our worlds will meet again at some point. I don’t know exactly when and how, but we will try.

Five years later, the project is visibly stoppedeven if Jason Blum does not give up on a possible encounter between the spirits of the Far and the demon Bagul, who has already infected two films, released in 2012 and 2015. Always with CinemaPopthe founder of Blumhouse Productions explained:
It would be fun, but we have to find the right story. We’ve been developing it for a while, but we haven’t come up with the idea of making a big movie. And I didn’t just want to make a movie to merge two franchises. I wanted to make a really good film. We’ve never had a great idea, but I’m always up for it.
