Miraculous: from the series to the big screen
Started in 2015, the series Miraculous tells the gripping story of two Parisian teenagers, Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste, who transform into superheroes, Ladybug and Cat Noir, to protect their city from evil forces. While season 5 just wrapped, the first theatrical film adapted from the show just opened in France. And it started off great!

A record start
The film Miraculous directed by Jérémy Zag (the producer of the series) is the first stone in the construction of the extended universe dedicated to the show. Therefore, it is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the series, but a unpublished projecttelling in a different and more condensed way, the adventures of Ladybug and Chat Noir.

With a budget of 80 million euros and broadcast worldwide thanks to Netflix, the musical feature film was released in the dark rooms of France this Wednesday 5 July. With over 300,000 cumulative admissions on its first day of operation, it simply hit the best start of all time for a French animated film. With the holidays in sight, he’s promised a big career in dark rooms.
