FX is wasting little time solidifying the future of its critically acclaimed comedy. What we do in the shadows.
Disney-backed Basic Cable Network has released a two-season update to a comedy series inspired by the feature film by Jamie Clement and Taika White. Arriving more than a month before returning for the fourth season of the sitcom, Pickup moves to the show for seasons five and six.
“There are so many lives left in our favorite Staten Island vampires and FX couldn’t be more excited for two additional seasons of this phenomenal series,” said Nick Grad, president of original programming at FX. “What do we do in the shadows Superior at every level, from brilliant actors and amazing guest stars to producers, writers, directors and crew. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy Season 4 because we know the next two are on the way.”
Darkness It earned 10 Emmy nominations, including for Comedy Series, in its first two seasons. FX is actively supporting the third season, which ended in October, for the Emmy review. Season four premieres Tuesday, July 12, starting with original episodes starting at 10pm and premiering on Hulu the following day. The comedy will soon debut on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ under the Star brand in all other international territories.
Paul Sims, Clement, White, Stephanie Robinson, Sam Johnson, Gareth Bash and Eli Bush are executive producers on the series, overseen by FX Productions. With Kaivan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasha Demetriu, Mark Prok and Harvey Gillen.
Darkness It is part of the FX list of scripted originals, which also includes Atlanta, Breeders, Dave, Fargo, Maya, Reserve Dogs, Snow, The american stories flag, Enmity and the future Justified Renaissance, by the way.
