The French publication Le Figaro reported that the 67-year-old ex-President of France married for the first time. The chosen one of Francois Hollande was the actress Julie Gayet, who is 17 years younger than her partner. The lovers staged a private wedding ceremony, which took place last Saturday in the city of Tulle in southwestern France. Only relatives and close friends of the newly-married couple were invited to the wedding, and the ceremony itself was held by Corrèze Bernard Combe, replacing Hollande as mayor of Tulle.
It is known that Hollande and Gaye have been in a relationship since 2014. At that time, the ex-president was still dating journalist Valerie Trierweiler, but after the Closer tabloid published his joint photos with Gaye, they broke up. It was then that Hollande declared that he would never marry anyone. Apparently, Julie Gaye still convinced the inveterate bachelor, and he finally married her after an 8-year romance.
Note that with all this, Francois Hollande has four children. Everything – from the relationship with the French politician Segolene Royal, which lasted almost 30 years. He broke up with her in 2007. Julie Gayet also has two children from a previous marriage to film director Santiago Amigorena.
Recall that Hollande held the presidency for five years until 2017, when he was replaced by Emmanuel Macron. Gaye is known for her acting talents: she starred in such films as “Poly”, “My Best Friend” and “Our Best Vacation”.
