It’s a classic, one of those songs that never goes out of style. And much less now, than Turf presents a new version with the Mexican group DLD of “Lamento Boliviano”the theme immortalized by Los Enanitos Verdes.
More danceable, with a good dose of psychedelia and modernity but preserving the power of its cathartic spirit, “Lamento Boliviano” with DLD becomes the new official single from Turf’s upcoming album -seventh in his discography-, including advances “Gatitas y Ratones”, “Malas Decisiones”, “Lequel?” and “I leave behind”.
The version was artistically produced by Juanchi Baleirón, with mixing and mastering by Alvaro Villagra at Del Abasto Monsterland Studios in General Rodríguez, Buenos Aires; and sound engineer Alberto Rodriguez recorded DLD in Mexico.
“A few years ago Turf was invited to play in Mendoza and we met guitarist Felipe from Los Enanitos Verdes. During this meeting, he spontaneously hung up the guitar and played “Lamento Boliviano” with him, the magic did not take long to arrive and the song was almost ours…”, recalls Joaquín Levinton.
And he added: “Time passed and one day in the room the idea came up to do the version of the Turf song and start playing it at shows, it was so well received by the public that we decided to record it.”
“Bolivian Lament”, there is no doubt, will be one of the songs that will sound on Saturday August 27 at the Vorterix Theater, when Turf will play again in the city of Buenos Aires.
