In addition to putting once Dusk-esque crocs, Kourtney Kardashian shares something else in common with Robert Pattinson. Namely, the 43-year-old mother of three has never been too fond of the mega-project that launched her to fame, which in her case was keep up with the Kardashians. The reality star also said during her family’s conversations in the finale that filming her was a “love-hate relationship” for her. And apparently she already has similar complaints about her new Hulu subscriber show, The Kardashians, with whom he spoke about his ex E! show.
Kourtney Kardashian’s reviews on KUWTK
Let’s go back to the old chestnut itself first. For many years inside keep up with the KardashiansKourtney Kardashian has been described as a lethargic and boring Daria-type character who just doesn’t like filming. Her dissonance with the show apparently reached breaking point in season 18, when she and Kim Kardashian had a physical argument on camera. Her older sister then quit for a while, citing privacy concerns and arguing KUWT promoted a “toxic environment” for his mental health. Before The Kardashians‘first, however, he explained to Febrile activity who was actually editing it on E! which created the friction. She said,
Filming our show ended up being a really toxic environment for me. I would fight with my sisters. There were, like, a lot of things to do. And even for me personally, I wasn’t in the happiest place. I felt like I was almost a character. This is Kourtney and she’s in a bad mood, so even if she laughed a lot during lunch, we’ll stop laughing and use the annoying comment she said.
Kourtney Kardashian has finally returned to the fold, but her appearances had been left to her discretion at the time. In the keep up with the Kardashians Over the past season, fans have seen her family push her and Scott Disick back together one last time. It obviously didn’t work out, as Kourtney later began dating (and later married) Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. The drama with her children’s father, however, apparently plays into her renewed grievances directed at The Kardashians.
Kourtney Kardashian is not happy with Hulu Edit
It was talked about in the June 8 episode of The Kardashians that Poosh’s creator is already worried about what’s going on behind the scenes. She shared with a friend over her lunch that after her engagement to Travis Barker came back online, she didn’t like how the story revolved around her ex Scott Disick’s feelings about her. Kardashian said:
We love movies and have a lifetime of fun and then we watched the montages and are really upset to be overwhelmed by this drama. . . . Especially when I’ve seen my engagement episode, the editors or whoever took it like, ‘Let’s take Kourtney. She is the one chosen to be the play.
According to him, the editing allowed an “old story” that “doesn’t really exist”. Kardashian added that the engagement episode was supposed to be “empowering” in the way she left toxic relationships behind and now has a “fairytale romance”.
Kourtney Kardashian noted that the family members are all executive producers on the show, so they can give notes on what is being filmed. But it wasn’t clear if her subsequent complaints had an impact that led to a change in the story, or if what we ultimately saw was the same thing she was complaining about. They certainly didn’t move Disick’s discussion that night (which saw Kendall Jenner get some heat) to the next episode, as she hoped she was. However, the show actually was sprinkled with a few confessionals reflecting the kind of “empowering” vibe that Kourtney was talking about, even with Disick’s continued presence and point of view.
At the very least, however, it’s a promising sign that Kourtney Kardashian could break through the fourth wall and talk more about the productive side of things in front of the camera now, if that really were the main issue here. Hopefully, the difficulty of Scott Disick’s story of being married to her, so to speak, won’t force her to retire from filming once again.
