Second round: Albert Dupontel hides heavy secrets in the intriguing trailer

Second round : Presidential candidate Albert Dupontel

17 years later President, Albert Dupontel once again embodies an enigmatic politician attracted to the Elysée. However, inside Second roundactor and director ofGoodbye idiots not yet elected. Favorite of the intermediate rounds, his character Pierre-Henry Mercier arouses Miss Pove’s curiosity (Cécile de France), a disgraced political journalist now in charge of football.

As he questions this mysterious candidate, who adopts a surprisingly fluid speech, he decides to investigate her true motives with his colleague Gus (Nicolas Marié). The trailer reveals a duo as funny as clumsy, intrigued by Mercier’s behavior. Apparently in connection with dark affairs, the latter “he doesn’t want to do what the people who fund (his) campaign have planned”, fearing the “air, water, ground” damage their plan could cause. Completely disillusioned, the politician is faced above all with an attempted assassination on these promising first images that oscillate between humor and seriousness.

Eighth feature film directed by Albert Dupontel, Second round marks his reunion with Cécile de France after Orchestra seats AND In balance. Uri Gavriel, Philippe Uchan, Bouli Lanners, Philippe Duquesne, Jackie Berroyer and David Marsais complete the cast.
