A piece available on Netflix
Netflix revealed the first season of A piece on August 31st. Eight episodes during which fans of the manga of the same name were able to discover their favorite heroes in the flesh. Indeed, One Piece is a live-action, English-language version of Eiichiro Oda’s work that matters more than one hundred volumes, an anime with over 1000 episodes and numerous animated films and video games. We follow Monkey D. Luffya young adventurer who wants to get his hands on the One Piece treasure that will allow him to become the Pirate King.
Above all, the first season allows us to introduce the main characters and the Straw Hat crew of which it is composed Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji. On screen they are played by Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Gibson and Taz Skylar respectively.
As you might expect, the posting of A piece on Netflix it caused a sensation and fans from all over the world flocked to it. Thus, since its first weekend, the show has entered the the 10 most viewed contents on Netflix in 84 countries.
A second season already written
A score to be put into perspective, however. On the one hand because the series was proposed on Thursday, while most of the new features are available on Friday. Remaining realistic, we can hope to finish within a year, if we move very quickly. It’s a possibility. In a year to 18 months we could be ready for release.
It is also necessary to take this into account Actors and actresses go on strike which prevents the start of production. If an agreement can be reached between the SAG-AFTRA union and the studios, season 2 of A piece can move forward in a concrete way. But before that, Netflix will first have to confirm the renewal of the show.
