The importance of Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Broadcast between 1997 and 2003, Buffy the Vampire Slayer marked his era. Much more than a series about vampires for teenagers, it is above all a fascinating work, full of varied themes and characters. It’s even more interesting to see the story of a teenage vampire hunter told today the topics covered therein.
If we address the topic of adolescence we cannot miss it the feminist aspect of the series and Buffy’s constant struggle against patriarchal figures. As in the case of an abusive future father-in-law who turns out to be a robot in episode 11 of season 2. the girl’s toxic relationship with Spikewhich changes definitively in episode 19 of season 6, when the latter attacks him.

A chilling scene, but one that contributes to the questions the series tries to raise with characters who are in no way models of perfection. Their gray areas being the most interesting. And this is probably the reason Buffy the Vampire Slayer East still popular with several derivatives. In fact, the story is not limited to seven seasons, but has been considerably enriched the spin-off Angel and comics which act as suites.
The series returns on audio but without Sarah Michelle Gellar
A new project around Buffy the Vampire Slayer was just announced by EW. The American media say so the Audible app (owned by Amazon) will offer soon an audio series Slayers: A History of the Buffyverse. The important thing then is participationmost of the cast from the television series.

The actress she will not reprise her role as Buffybecause the story of Slayers: A History of the Buffyverse take place twenty years later the events we know and will see appear another Slayer from a parallel world. And this will be Cordellawho will ask Spike for help to fight a demon that is terrorizing his world: Drusilia. Added to this will be the presence of a teenager named Indira Nunnally (Laya DeLeon Hayes) who Spike will have to accompany while waiting to find her a Watcher (we are therefore thinking of Giles).
