Netflix: This horrible documentary that Conjuring fans will love
Excellent first returns
Parasites premiered at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, after receiving good reception at the Venice Film Festival. A festival unavoidable for fans of fantasy films. And the first feedback from the specialized media is excellent.
Let’s first mention the number one site for horror cinema: Bloody disgusting. For them it’s simple Parasites is one of the best horror movies with killer spiders:
Vaniček has simply made one of the best killer spider movies we’ve seen in the last thirty years, and that’s saying something.
The film’s behind-closed-doors atmosphere made early viewers shudderincluding a scene in which the protagonists must move between walls full of poisonous creatures…
Same story for the media Gizmodo which he also had the privilege of discovering Parasites at Fantastic Fest:
While not without its flaws, Vermin is excellent. She’ll make you both squirm in your seat and keep you clinging to him.
A few weeks ago the feature film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, during International Critics’ Week. And the first feedback was also very positive. For example, we could read (via CineEuropa):
The style of the film at times recalls the intensity of The Raid by Gareth Evans or Attack the Block by Joe Cornish, but the film still remains in the more realistic register of a survival film. While the film’s novelty is the social commentary that accompanies its setting, that’s actually not its greatest strength: it’s as a well-made monster movie that Vermin works best.
For our colleagues at KonbiniVermin was “a film of pure entertainment, scary and generous, all sprinkled with an important and necessary political fervor“
