The Netflix series places great importance on Dominique Tapie and the unshakable relationship between her and her husband. The latter, however, has some criticisms to make of the program. Thus, on September 13, he confided to the columns of Madame Figaro that the series took place a little quietly. In fact, he explains that 10 years ago, Tristan Séguéla (son of Jacques Séguéla, a great friend of Bernard Tapie ed.), had proposed the series, but the one nicknamed “the boss” had said no.

He reiterated his request, and this time the latter accepted, on the condition that the program was created in collaboration with his son Laurent, who according to him was the guarantor of the truth. After a long period without news, Dominique Tapie and his family learned that Tristan Séguéla he had chosen to do this series alone, because, according to her, she wanted to have total freedom to turn it into a fiction. Initially hurt, Dominique Tapie then listened to the series creator make amends and, in a sign of friendship towards the family, she agreed not to “make things worse”. However, she Dominique Tapie confessed that she had not found her husband on the screen:

I recognize that Laurent Laffite is not bad in the role. All the actors are also very good. It will undoubtedly be successful. But we as a family cannot have a serene and relaxed look. He is not my husband.

As for his place within the series, he confided that he doesn’t recognize himself:

In the series, they almost make me appear as the mastermind (…) But I never put a finger, an eye, in Bernard’s files! I accompanied my husband on his adventures, but I was never an investigator of his affairs. Years later, I learned that someone had signed for me, that he had named me as a partner on the documents, and I was extremely angry with him.
