Justin Roiland was fired from Rick and Morty after serious accusations from an ex-girlfriend

One of the creators of Rick and Morty and responsible for providing the voices of both protagonists (as well as other secondary characters), Justin Roiland was fired from the acclaimed animation Adult Swim after accusations of domestic violence, but so far the channel has not announced who his replacements will be in the cast.

It is worth remembering how, in March 2023, he was cleared of allegations made by an ex-girlfriend. However, a few months later, eleven women and non-binary people “shared thousands of messages written by Roiland between 2013 and 2022, with nine people saying that he had turned the interactions into sexual matters,” according to information from NBC News. Some of the alleged victims said they were minors when they received contact from the actor.

On the afternoon of last Monday, the 25th, the seventh season of Rick and Morty (premiere scheduled for October 15, 2023) has an official trailer that shows the new voices of the two protagonists. However, Adult Swim has not yet revealed who the new actors are.

Justin Roiland interpreted so much Rick how much Mortybut both will have voices from completely different actors, according to information from The Hollywood Reporter, but the tone of the performance is quite similar to the original. To the website, a source of Adult Swim spoke about the mystery of the new interpreters.

We want the program to speak for itself. We believe in the strength of the season and our new voices and want to preserve the viewing experience for fans.
