The series was a great success for HBO, broadcast in France on Prime Video The last of us ended its first season showered with well-deserved praise. As soon as broadcasts began, in January 2023, a second season of the television adaptation of the famous video game was made official. But as for when we could see it, no information had filtered out on this topic. And the horizon darkened when Hollywood screenwriters entered, united in the Writers Guild of America (WAG). on strike at the beginning of June. But now that the writers appear to have reached an agreement with the studios, it means that script development can resume. The opportunity for Craig Mazin, co-creator and showrunner of the series, to announce Good news regarding season 2.
The screenwriters start writing again
This is what Craig Mazin expressed himself on the Threads social network, declaring that he is enthusiastic at the idea of returning to the work table.
I am very proud of the WGA and its members and excited to get back to work on season two of “The Last of Us.” The strike hasn’t been officially called off yet, but the moment it does, we’ll be back in action!
Faced with the excitement of fans, who were the first to read “action” in the sense that the term launches a sequence of shots, Craig Mazin clarified his formula. In fact, he writes in a second message that: “the word “action” in my last post was misinterpreted as “shoot”. Let’s get back to writing! I hope to have an update soon regarding the start of filming.”
We will therefore have to be patient again but, at least, the machine is restarted!
