There are unforgettable albums, for which time seems to have stood still. Even if it’s not quite like that. “Winter Confessions”, the famous second album by Sui Generis, celebrates its 50th anniversary. And that’s not little.
The list of songs from this adventure that bore the signature of Charly García and Nito Mestre included songs that are today classics and have marked an entire generation, such as “Rasguña las Piedras”, “Bienvenidos al Tren”, “Aprendizaje », “When I start to be alone”, “Monday again” and the one which gives its title to the album.
It was released in 1973 and consolidated the popularity of the group, which had experienced enormous growth with the hit “Canción para mi Muerte”, from their first album.
The recording was made in June and July 1973, in the RCA Victor and Phonalex studios, with guests such as David Lebón (electric guitar and bass), León Gieco (harmonica of “Bienvenidos al Tren”), Alejandro Medina (bassist de Manal), Juan Rodríguez (drums), Paco Prati (drums), Alejandro “Pipi” Correa (bass) and Rodolfo Mederos (bandoneon in “When I Start to Stay Alone”), as well as the orchestral arrangements of Gustavo Beytelmann.
Oh, and the “recording director” was Billy Bond.
The cover is a photo taken by Jorge Fisbein, hand-colored by graphic designer Juan O. Gatti. And the internal photos are by Ada Moreno.
“Confesiones de Invierno” made Sui Generis number one in Argentine rock at the time.
