The Crown: a moving first trailer for the final season

A sixth and final chapter for The crown

After the fifth season released last year, The crown is preparing to reveal its sixth and final chapter. This will happen at the end of the 20thth and early on the 21stth century. Among the most important episodes of the British monarchy in this period, the plot of this new season should focus in particular on the death of Princess Diana, the transition of Tony Blair to Prime Minister and the beginning of the relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton and at the wedding between Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.

We remember that, after being played by Claire Foy and Olivia Colman, Queen Elizabeth is played by Imelda Staunton from the fifth season of The crown. She will therefore play the monarch for the last time on the show. Because, as mentioned above, this sixth chapter will be the last in the series. And the first images of her have just been revealed (trailer at the top of the article).

First images that remind us of the evolution of the queen

Netflix has released the first trailer for season six The crown. This reminds us of Elizabeth’s journey in the series showing us one of her television appearances when she was played by Claire Foy in the early seasons, then one of her portrayals as Olivia Colman in later seasons. Aside from these two appearances, we only see Imelda Staunton in these images.

On the other hand, we can also hear the voices of Foy, Colman and Staunton as the queen. They remember the duty carried out by Elizabeth during his life. But also what did she miss? due to the weight of the crown.

A release planned in two parts

Netflix took advantage of the release of these first images to reveal the release date of the sixth season of The crown. This will come in two installments. The first part will be published online next November 16thand the second December 14th. We remind you that, if this sixth chapter will be the last, the series created by Peter Morgan should have the right to a spin-off. The latter would work like this a prequelalthough we are still waiting for the news to be made official.
