The VOD Festival: what is it?

For the seventh consecutive year, eight VOD platforms (including Canal VOD and Orange VOD) celebrate cinema by making available to viewers more than 200 films at reduced pricesfor rental and purchase.

The perfect opportunity if you haven’t had the opportunity to discover the the best films released recently at the cinema (since they are available three months later on VOD) at an attractive price. And there’s something for everyone: blockbusters, comedies, dramas, horror films, great classics…

Ten recent films to urgently catch up on

If you don’t know where to start, we offer you ten recent films to catch up on, available at a reduced price (2 euros for rental and 5 euros for purchase) during the four days of the VOD Festival (from 12 to 15 October).

  • Love and forests

Adaptation of the novel of the same name by Eric Reinhardt, the thriller Love and forests have produced by Valérie Donzelli depicts a controlling relationship between her and a woman manipulative husband. The two main roles are played by Virginie Efira and Melvil Poupaud. One of the best French films of the year, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

  • Top Gun: nonconformist

Top Gun: nonconformist is the biggest success of the year 2022 behind us Avatar 2 (also in France). Tom Cruise resumes his cult role for a new mission that will lead him to surpass himself in a deluge of action at high altitude with mind-blowing sequences.

  • The Vatican Exorcist

Based on real facts, The Vatican Exorcist stars Russell Crowe as Father Gabriele Amorth, the Vatican’s chief exorcist, who uncovers a conspiracy within the Church itself when he goes to the bedside of a possessed boy.

  • Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Following Spider-Man: Next Generationwith animation once again to die for, Through the Spider-Verse features Spider-Man as he finds himself catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-Heroes charged with protecting its secrets.

  • Furious

The tenth part of the saga Fast & Furiouswhich tests Dominic Toretto’s “family” when the worst enemy they have faced so far (played by Jason Momoa) threatens to destroy their existence. A deluge of action which will delight fans of the franchise.

  • Jeanne du Barry

Directed by Maïwenn, who also plays the lead role, Jeanne du Barry it’s a Historical film which is interested in the relationship between the countess and Louis XV, played by Johnny Depp who here marks his great return to cinema.

  • John Wick 4

Filmed partly in the French capital, John Wick 4 puts Keanu Reeves one last time as this life-damaged character, who finally finds a way to defeat The Big Table. But first, he has to deal with a new enemy with unparalleled power. A fourth work that will appeal to action and combat fans.

  • On the black paths

Change of tone for Jean Dujardin who plays in the film On the black pathsadapted from novel of the same name by Sylvain Tesson, a writer who goes on a journey to recover his body after a serious accident. A beautiful portrait of a forgotten France.

  • Misanthrope

Misanthrope is a fiendishly effective thriller, in the vein of Seven OR The silence of the lambs. A young investigator played by Shailene Woodley sets out in search of a serial killer who is terrorizing the city of Baltimore.

  • The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan

First part of the diptych adapted from the work of Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan dusts off the French swashbuckling genre with a film romantic and epic which puts action at the center of the story carried forward by a four-star cast. Perfect to wait until part two, Miladyexpected in theaters on December 13th.
