Halloween will get a TV series and could start a new cinematic universe

According to information from the deadlineMiramax Television reached an agreement with Trancas International Film, which owns the rights to the franchise created by John Carpenter and started in 1978, to produce a TV series and, possibly, start a new cinematic universe.

Trancas’ most recent work, in partnership with Miramax and Blumhouse, was the trilogy of films directed by David Gordon Green (The Exorcist: The Devotee) and starring Jamie Lee Curtis (Everything Everywhere at the Same Time), franchise veteran.

In the new feature, which is a direct continuation of the first film in the franchise and ignores the sequels released over the last few years, Laurie Strode (Curtis) finds himself confronting Michael Myers, four decades after surviving his attacks on Halloween night. However, now, she is prepared to take down the masked killer once and for all.
