Subscription, which costs R$25.90, will no longer be an option for interested parties
Netflix revealed that it will eliminate the option to subscribe to the Basic plan in Brazil, which costs R$ 25.90, with the intention of boosting the adhesion of interested parties to the Standard with Ads, Standard and Premium packages, which cost R$ 18.90 , R$39.90 and R$55.90, respectively.
The information is from Value Invest. According to the company, the measure has already been adopted in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Italy and Canada, boosting customer adoption of other packages offered by the streaming service.
In addition to Brazil, Germany, Spain, Japan, Mexico and Australia will also be the next to eliminate the Basic plan from customer options. Netflix also stated that it intends to add new features to the packages to increase their attractiveness.
Finally, the streaming platform also highlighted the success of the ad-supported plan, which was launched amid Netflix’s controversial decision to ban the sharing of passwords and open the possibility of continuing to do so only by paying an extra monthly fee. According to the company, around 30% of new subscribers subscribe to the Standard package with Ads.
