The reboot ofHighlanders finally filming?
There has been talk for some time about a reboot of the cult Highlander license (born with the film Highlanders (1986) by Russell Mulcahy with Christophe Lambert and Sean Connery). A project had been discussed with Justin Lin and Ryan Reynolds. But in May 2021, Chad Stahelski (saga John Wick) AND Henry Cavill have been chosen to direct and carry out this reboot. Except that since then, nothing, or almost nothing. In March 2023, the director broke the news about the project.
Nothing concrete enough to really believe. At least until today with the announcement of Expiration of a filming will begin in 2024. Lionsgate would even have allocated a budget of at least 100 million dollars for this new film Highlanders. There will also be a touch of John Wick in the script with the presence of screenwriter Michael Finch, who has worked previously John Wick 4.

The story of this reboot should take the basis established by Highlanders original from 1986. Christophe Lambert played in it Connor MacLeod, a 16th-century Scottish warrior. When he died at the age of 18, turns out to be immortal. He can therefore only be killed by decapitation.
