Vice versa 2 is finally revealed
In 2015, the world of animated cinema was marked by the release of Vice versa (Inside Out), a Pixar production that explores the world of human emotions with surprising originality. The film is set in the mind of Riley, a young girl navigating the challenges of childhood, where five personified emotions – Joy, Anger, Disgust, Fear and Sadness – attempt to guide her through life’s changes.
These emotions coexisted in Riley’s mind control center, where they faced upheavals when Riley moved to a new city. Vice versa he was praised for his ability to materialize complex psychological concepts (like dreams or abstract thought) with a simplicity and clarity capable of touching both children and adults.
Eight years after conquering the public, the emotions return Vice versa 2the highly anticipated sequel to the animated film, which will arrive on our screens in June 2024.
A new emotion appears
In this new feature film, Riley now prepares to enter adolescence, with all the upheavals that this entails. And after years of calm in which the five emotions managed to maintain balance in Riley’s brain, his emotional state will experience a roller coaster with adolescence. As in the first film, all of this is illustrated in a playful and frankly entertaining way, with construction workers invading Riley’s mind control center to turn everything upside down. After breaking everything, a new emotion appears : Anxiety (voiced by Maya Hawke in the original version). And if her first words are to be believed, she won’t be the only one to take up residence in the teenager’s brain for a long time.
In the first poster of the film also revealed today by Pixar, we can see three other emotions alongside Anxiety, which should become known soon (we can imagine that the emotion on the far left illustrates melancholy).
