Carlos Vives He continues to celebrate his 30-year career with everything. And he does it with nothing more or less than a Latin Grammy for his album “Escalona: Never Had It Been Recorded Thus”which won the Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album category.

With this award, the Colombian singer totals 18 Latin Grammys, demonstrating his influence within the music industry.

“I want to thank the Academy and all the nominees, share the award of course with the men and women who dreamed of this category of cumbia/vallenato so that they know this feeling of Colombia,” said Carlos, visibly excitedafter receiving his statuette.

And he added: “I want to thank my team. And also my family for being there. Thank you very much to all of you and to you for these 30 years. Long live Vallenato!

“Escalona: Never Had It Been Recorded Like This” is a 30-year journey back to his roots and the milestone that made him an ambassador of the Colombian sound to the world.
