Originally, The Summer That Changed My Life is a trilogy of books written by Jenny Han – the same author of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. The first edition was released in 2009.


Taylor Swift music

The series’ soundtrack features songs by none other than Taylor Swift. The singer even re-recorded the track. “This Love” exclusively for The Summer That Changed My Life. “Thanks Jenny Hanfor debuting my version of ‘This Love’ in the trailer of The Summer That Changed My Life. I’ve always been very proud of this song,” he wrote on Instagram. Furthermore, the track “Lover” will also be present in the series.

First attempt at adaptation

This was not the first attempt to adapt the story of belly for the screens. At first, Lions Gate Entertainment bought the rights to the books by Han to make a TV series. However, the production did not go ahead and Amazon Studios and Wiip Studios are the new responsible for the series of Prime Video.


Second season

Because it is a trilogy, it is possible that the series adapts one book in each season. And, to the delight of history fans, The Summer That Changed My Life had the second season confirmed even before the series debuted on the streaming platform.
