Netflix: new films released online (week of December 18th to 24th)
The last quarter of the year is a privileged time for Netflix, which often broadcasts these major productions or acquisitions there. For some, their distribution often follows a presentation at fall festivals, particularly the Venice Film Festival. This was for example the case with The power of the dog by Jane Campion in 2021, Blond hair by Andrew Dominik e Athena by Romain Gavras in 2022 and 2023 The killer by David Fincher and Master of Bradley Cooper had this honor. It is precisely the latter, Masterbiographical film about the American composer Leonard Bernstein – to whom we owe in particular the music History of the West Side -, which arrives on the platform on December 20th.
A diligent production and above all a very inspired interpretation by Bradley Cooper, which should place him among the favourites the 2024 Oscar for best actor. Another great piece of cinema on the way December 22nd on Netflix, in a completely different genre: Rebel Moon Part 1: The Child of Fire by Zack Snyder. A great science fiction fresco, inspired by many others Star Wars compared to other cinematic creations – there is even a nod to Gladiator -, visually and narratively very ambitious. The cast is led by Sofia Boutella and includes, among others, Ed Skrein, Charlie Hunnam and Djimon Hounsou.
His sequel, Rebel Moon Part 2: The Slasher has already arrived on Netflix set for April 19, 2024.
