Berlin returns to Netflix
Berlin launched on Netflix on December 29, 2023. And it’s no surprise that the spin-off series of The Paper House it wasted no time and positioned itself at the top of the top 10 of new releases in France. It must be said that the Spanish series at the origin of Berlin it had been one of the streaming platform’s great successes.
The show has become a reference, and some of its elements have made their way into popular culture (such as Dali’s mask). Therefore, offering a program about one of the most emblematic characters of The Paper House it had everything to attract people, and this was confirmed since the first days of the release of the first season.

So let’s follow Andrés de Fonollosa (Pedro Alonso)alias Berlin, who before participating in the Professor’s robbery of the National Money Factory (the basic story of The Paper House), imagined another equally ambitious heist. It is in Paris that he goes with his team to steal jewels. The entire loot is worth several million euros, so nothing should be left to chance. Which won’t stop Berlin from making several bad choices after falling in love with Camille, the wife of Polignac, the man in charge of protecting the jewels…
The streets of Paris where the Netflix series was filmed
As we explained in our review on Berlinthe series makes a relevant choice setting its plot in Paris. A city that evokes a whole romantic imagination. And indeed, in the series, it is largely a question of love and anguish of the different protagonists. A theme that almost relegates robbery to the background.
The filming of Berlin took place in our French capital. Of course there is the Sacred Heart which Parisians (and not only) will have easily recognized, when Berlin follows Camille at night during the first episode. But to this are added other lesser-known places. AS the Church of Saint-Julien le Pauvrein the 5th arrondissement, in front of Notre-Dame, where Berlin and his team go to access the catacombs.

Also, if you go sideways Rue Valentin Haüy in 15, you will be able to recognize the entrance to the gang’s hotel, opposite Polignac’s house (number 6 to be exact). And more anecdotally, Beatles fans will have recognized a reference to the bands when the thieves cross paths Saxony Avenue. Added to this are several neighborhoods in which Berlin and Camille will stroll, such as the streets of Montmartre, the Vert-Galant square or the Bir-Hakeim Bridge.
Places outside Paris
However, it is not only in Paris that the Berlin. And other cities have hosted the filming of the Netflix series, in France or Spain. So, if like Berlin and Camille you want to embark on a romantic trip, know that this is it at Ormetton Castle in Val-de-Marne where they go before Polignac discovers that his wife is cheating on him. And if you’re planning a trip to Spain, there’s plenty to do, too.

Like in Madrid, with the El Rincón Palace where the show begins. But also Almeria, away Cabo de Gata beach, for a scene between Cameron and her ex-boyfriend. Or Toledo, near Madrid, where Casarrubios airfield. It is this location that was used to film the car race that Roi and Cameron participate in after the robbery. Of course, this is an inconsistency given the distance that separates this area from Paris, but the production probably did not find a suitable location in the Paris region.
