According to AC Bradley, the chapter would be in the second season of the Marvel Cinematic Universe animated series, but was discarded
AC Bradleychief screenwriter of What If…?revealed that they had to cut an episode from the second season of the Marvel Cinematic Universe animated series, which recently came to an end, as it featured a bizarre story involving the Spider man.
“I wrote an episode that will forever stay in a drawer because it was very, very dark. I used to call it ‘Children of Hope as Spider man‘”declared the screenwriter in an interview with IGNwithout going into detail about the plot of the discarded chapter, but citing the film starring Clive Owen (Closer: Too Close) for example.
In the 2006 film, which takes place in 2027, infertility becomes a real threat when the last human to be born in years ends up dying. Dealing with a pessimistic scenario, the character of Owen becomes hope for humanity as he faces the world to protect a miraculously pregnant young woman.
